Since October 2013 Hope for Helpless offers computer classes at New Bubajjwe Primary School in order to ensure equal opportunities for the later life of the children of the disadvantaged suburb Kawempe. The offer is enjoying great enthusiasm and will continue in the future! / Seit Oktober 2013 bietet Hope for Helpless Computerkurse an der New Bubajjwe Primary School an, um gleiche Chancen für das spätere Leben der Kinder des benachteiligten Vororts Kawempe zu gewährleisten. Das Angebot erfreut sich großer Begeisterung und wird auch in Zukunft fortgesetzt werden!

In Uganda people usually prepare their food on small charcoal stoves, which on the one hand is expensive, on the other hand pollutes the environment since a lot of smut and smoke develops while cooking. In order to find an environmentally friendly way of preparing food, we produced cooking bricklets together with our kids. The bricklets consist of a mixture of burnt organic waste such as banana peelings. These wastes are formed with the aid of clay into balls, dried and can be used subsequently instead of charcoal for cooking. / In Uganda bereiten die Menschen ihr Essen in der Regel auf kleinen Kohleherden zu, was zum einen teuer, zum anderen umweltverschmutzend ist, da beim Kochen sehr viel Ruß und Qualm entsteht. Wir haben mit unseren Kindern Kochpellets hergestellt, welche aus einer Mixtur aus verbrannten organischen Abfällen wie z.B. Bananenbaumrinde, bestehen. Diese Abfälle werden mit Hilfe von Lehm zu Kugeln geformt, getrocknet und können im Anschluss daran statt Kohle zum Kochen verwendet werden.
